Google Search is a widely used search engine in Europe, and illegal or misleading content can appear here too: fraudulent sites, fake news, copyrighted material published without permission or links leading to harmful content. In some cases Google suspends accounts linked to its tools without a clear explanation.
You report this content to Google first. If Google does not act on your notice, or removes your content from the results or suspends your account, and Google's internal complaint system did not change the decision, Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (DSA) lets you ask ADR Center, a body certified by AGCOM, for a free independent review through its ODS service. Independent experts examine Google's decision and issue a non-binding decision.
Google Search decisions you can have reviewed:
Fraudulent or deceptive sites: pages that try to mislead users, reported and left in the results.
Copyrighted content published without permission: illegal material in the index that Google does not remove after your notice.
Fake news and disinformation: articles or pages spreading false or misleading information, reported and not removed.
Dangerous links: links to malware, phishing or other online risks that stay in the results after your notice.
Google Accounts suspended without explanation: you can no longer manage the tools or services linked to the search engine or to your Google Account.
Notices left unanswered: Google did not remove illegal content you reported.
