If Roblox banned or suspended the account, appeal to Roblox first, following the moderation notification. If Roblox upholds its decision, Article 21 of the Digital Services Act allows an independent review: ODS, run by ADR Center (certified by AGCOM, Resolution 501/24/CONS), is free, rules on admissibility within 10 days and decides within 90. The decision is not binding.

On Roblox, the consequences of a violation range from a warning to a timeout, a suspension and restrictions on the whole account, and each decision comes with a moderation notification. Roblox's Help Center says that notification tells you how to appeal: for some violations through Violations & Appeals, where you select Appeal, explain why the case should be looked at again and track its status; for others through the Roblox support form, giving the username and a short statement. Roblox adds that a moderation that has already been reviewed will not be reviewed again, that duplicate appeals are not looked at, and that you should write from the email address linked to the account. ODS is not part of Roblox: it is not a help desk, it has no access to the account and it cannot lift a ban. It comes in later, once Roblox has answered your appeal, and looks at whether Roblox's decision holds up under its own rules and the Digital Services Act.
If the appeal changes nothing and the Roblox account stays banned, EU law gives you one more route. Article 21 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act, lets anyone affected by a decision on their account choose a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body to review it. Roblox acknowledges this in its Help Center: in the section on additional rights for users in the European Union, it says that under the Digital Services Act EU users have the right to select a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body for content moderation decisions, and it points to the European Commission's list of bodies. Roblox's Terms of Use also preserve that right. You file the dispute on the chosen body's own website. ODS is run by ADR Center, a body certified by AGCOM, Italy's Digital Services Coordinator, under Resolution 501/24/CONS, and handles cases in 16 languages, English included. Keep the moderation notification, the date of your appeal to Roblox and the reply you got: they are the core of your file.
Many Roblox accounts belong to children and teenagers, and it is often a parent who looks for a way forward. For the internal appeal, Roblox is clear: to protect players' privacy, only the owner of an account may send an appeal, from the email address linked to the account. A parent can still help read the moderation notification, write the explanation and keep the evidence: screenshots of the notification, the date of the appeal and Roblox's reply. If the Roblox account stays banned after the appeal, the case can reach ODS through someone acting on the account holder's behalf: ODS's rules allow a case to be filed for another person, provided you attach an authorisation or another document showing that you represent them. Mention in the description that the account belongs to a minor. ODS looks only at the moderation decision: it does not touch account settings or parental controls, which stay with Roblox and the family.
An ODS review of a Roblox account decision is free, and the form asks for no payment. Article 21 of the Digital Services Act requires the procedure to be free of charge for users, or available at a nominal fee, and charges the body's fees to the platform, here Roblox; if the decision goes Roblox's way, you reimburse nothing unless the body finds manifest bad faith. Once your file is complete, ODS decides within 10 days whether the case is admissible and within 90 days on the merits, with an extension possible for highly complex disputes. The case is decided by independent experts, and AGCOM certification requires the body to be impartial towards both Roblox and its users. The decision is not binding: the Act says a certified body "shall not have the power to impose a binding settlement of the dispute on the parties", and nobody can promise in advance how a case will end. Both sides take part in good faith, and Article 21 keeps your right to challenge Roblox's decision before a court at any stage.
Before opening a case about a banned or suspended Roblox account, you need to have appealed to Roblox first, because ODS steps in after the platform's internal complaint. The ODS form then asks for the platform and the reason, the country of residence in the EU, a description of what happened, the date of the appeal to Roblox and the reply received, the reference code if Roblox gave one, and the account details: username, the email used on Roblox and the link to the profile. You can attach screenshots of the moderation notification and Roblox's emails. If you are filing for your child, attach the document showing that you act on their behalf. You also add contact details and the language you want to hear from us in. Finally, you confirm that the information is true and that no other dispute settlement body is already handling the same decision. After you submit, we email you a link to confirm the request.
