ODS Service - Zalando

Zalando

Zalando is a European e-commerce platform for fashion and lifestyle, where people buy clothing, footwear and accessories. Issues falling under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (DSA) can arise on Zalando too: for example accounts blocked or suspended without explanation, unlawful content or listings left online after a notice, or platform decisions communicated without clear reasons.

First, challenge the decision through Zalando's internal complaint system. If the decision stands, ADR Center, an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified by AGCOM under Article 21 of the DSA, can carry out a free independent review through its ODS service: independent experts examine Zalando's decision and issue a non-binding decision.

The review covers Zalando's decisions on content and accounts; orders, deliveries, returns and refunds are outside this procedure.

Zalando decisions you can have reviewed (DSA Article 21)

Accounts suspended or blocked without reasons

Unlawful content or listings left online after your notice

Decisions without clear reasons on your account or your content

Restricted access to account features without explanation

Notices of illegal content rejected or left unanswered

Digital platforms you can open a case about

Under the Digital Services Act (Article 21), you can ask for an independent review of a decision taken by an online platform, such as the removal of content or the suspension of an account, after filing an internal complaint with the platform. Here you will find the main digital platforms, from Amazon to Facebook and from TikTok to Booking, with clear information on how the process works.
